The basics

Common questions

It filed something in the wrong collection.

Move it, and tick Use this choice for similar items. That teaches the sorter strongly, and it will get that kind of thing right next time. You can also give a collection your own keywords, which outrank the built-in vocabulary.

Something landed in Review instead of a collection.

That is on purpose. When Keepsake is not confident enough, it refuses to guess and leaves the save in Review with a suggestion. You can lower the confidence threshold in Settings if you would rather it guessed more often.

Nothing happens on a particular site.

Browser pages, the Chrome Web Store and local files cannot be read by any extension. Chrome forbids it. On an ordinary page with no product data, Keepsake will still save the page and leave it for Review.

Where is my data, and can I get it out?

It is in your browser profile, on your machine. Settings has an export that writes the whole library to a JSON file, and an import that reads one back. There is nothing to download from us because we do not have a copy.

I deleted something by accident.

Deleted saves sit in the Trash for 30 days. Restore it from there.

Do I have to turn on the AI?

No. Everything core (reading a page, sorting it, collections, Review, the Lifestyle views) works with the AI off, on your own machine. The AI is optional, needs your own key, and shows you what it is about to send before it sends it.

Will my saves sync to another computer?

Not today. Keepsake stays on your computer, so there's no sync: no account and no server. Moving between machines means exporting and importing.

Reporting a bug

Tell us the version from the Keepsake card at chrome://extensions, the site you were on if it matters, what you expected and what happened. A screenshot helps. Please do not attach your exported library. We do not need it.
