Common questions

A page looks wrong.

Open the popup and set This site to Never dark to check whether the extension is the cause. If it is, set it back and try the Filter engine for that site. It switches without reloading. Then tap Report a problem so we can fix it.

A dark site didn't change.

That is on purpose. Sites that are already dark are left alone. To darken one anyway, open the popup on that site and tick Darken even if the page looks dark already.

The popup says it's not running on this page.

Reload the page, or allow Sunglasses at Night on that website in Safari. Safari never lets extensions run on some pages, such as its own settings and start pages.

It turned on at the wrong time.

Check When in the popup. Match system follows your device's appearance. A schedule uses your device's clock, and can run overnight.

Will my settings sync to my other devices?

No. Settings stay on each device. There is no account and no server.

Remove your data

Delete single sites in the Sites list, or choose Reset all settings in the app or the popup. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stores. Nothing is kept on any server. More in the privacy policy.

Reporting a problem

Report a problem in the popup opens a draft email to [email protected] in your Mail app, with the site's hostname, the version, your browser's user-agent string and your settings. Nothing is sent unless you press Send, and you can edit it first. Please add what you expected and what happened.
